On the plus side, last weekend was super productive with a fun project! Remember back to your years in school when you had to make a poster? Yeah, this was nothing like that. The lead teacher I work with wanted two posters made: 'The Life Cycle of a Tree' and a weather chart. So I got down to work and what you see below is the final result.
I'm pretty happy with the end result (didn't know I had the ability to paint trees!), but there are a few things I'd do differently next time, of course.
- Buy a bigger brush. Even better, a number of different sized brushes, because painting the entire poster using only the brush that comes with Crayola watercolors is...tedious, at best.
- Start earlier. The bulk of the work was done on Sunday, meaning the project crept into my bedtime.
- Always pencil in words first. 'Weather' on my weather poster was not penciled first, and ended up taking up too much room. Oops!
